ACROSS THE FRONT

Well faithful companions, the best laid plans of lagomorphs and men…
My trek across my beloved Owyhee front didn’t go as planned. But! It’s caused me to refocus on my health, becoming stronger, and given me time to start taking care of some neglected items around the Ersity of Was campus.

As Captain Picard once said:

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.”

There was no one to blame but myself. I did the research, I mapped the trail, even dropped some gear in order to make the trip a little easier, but on the morning of my hike my untended to physical issues – combined with over 1,000mg of caffeine! – made it so that taking the journey, especially alone, just would not have been safe.

I’m currently working on the regular Summer Class schedule. This year I want to include a regular monthly open meet event so that folks can meet and get an idea of the terrain without any big commitments. Feel free to chime in with any preferred days or times, I’m looking at something like a Third Thursday type scheduling, but stay tuned to the site and the Facebook page for more details as available.

You can look forward to regular Full Moon Hikes, as well as other special events as the year goes on as well! Make sure you’re following along on social – it tends to get updated the most often!

In the meantime, if you’re wanting to get out for a hike in the Owyhee region of Idaho, want to visit a beautiful canyon to have coffee, get in a little good ole YELL THERAPY, or just enjoy a short meditation by the creek – get in touch! I am on the trail almost every day and am always happy to schedule individual or small group visits whenever possible. Be sure to visit my Facebook and TikTok channels for the latest packlife fun!
